The Six Degrees Stories are a collection of short stories that sprout from one another. The first story, The College Dean, mentions a character by the name of Amelia; Amelia becomes the lead in Ten Months Abroad, wherein a fellow passenger on the airline home from Greece glances her way with a hint of a smile and, BAM! he becomes The Romanian Horse in story 3. And so it went until there were eight, count ‘em, eight, stories. Then I started a crime story and some of the situations in some of the six degrees stories lent themselves to that project [ongoing at this point in time]. Yet, yet, yet I so love the IDEA of the Six Degrees Stories that I’m going to keep the first couple here and who knows? Where the stories will branch out to, I can’t say as I haven’t been there yet — my imagination hasn’t met all the folks there are to meet. I haven’t stalked them with words or even sketched in their features. But those that I have created will begin this short story serialization.
